Lake Lure Man Charged for Selling Machine He Rented
Detective Aaron Vallini with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 46-year-old Jerry Dwayne Epley Jr., of Lake Lure, with felony Conversion. He was given a secured bond of $7,000.
On June 23, Deputy Chris Dvorak responded to a Marion business for a report of property damage and theft.
An employee of the business stated that Epley rented a piece of equipment and then didn’t return it. The machinery was found in Rutherfordton after it was sold to an individual there, with extensive damage estimated to be over $12,000.
