UPDATED TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Street Closures Announced Due to Latin Festival - Sunday, August 17, 2025

Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., announces that the following streets will be closed during the below designated hours as the City of Newark hosts its Latin Festival event:
Beginning from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. – Sunday, August 17, 2025
• Bloomfield Avenue between Clifton Avenue and Lake Street
Note: The following streets will not be open to traffic headed toward Bloomfield Avenue:
• Highland Avenue between #131 / #142 Highland Avenue and Bloomfield Avenue
• Highland Avenue between Bloomfield Avenue and #179 / #180 Highland Avenue
• Ridge Street between #217 Ridge Street and Bloomfield Avenue
• Parker Street between #240 Parker Street and Bloomfield Avenue
Note: Residents of the above-listed streets will be allowed to travel to their homes during the event. All other drivers are advised to plan alternate routes.
For event security, all bags and backpacks will be subject to search upon entry. Weapons, illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, noise makers, drones of any type, glass containers, alcohol, coolers, and all smoking devices are prohibited.
Director Miranda thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this event. He also urges anyone with information regarding criminal activities to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
