Dear Laguna Beach Neighbor,
There are multiple overhead utility transmission lines in and around Laguna Beach that can be eligible for SCE’s Targeted Undergrounding (TUG) program. The TUG program uses ratepayer funds to underground SCE lines that may be at risk of failure during high wind events. Further, having the lines undergrounded may mean we are less susceptible to planned Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPSs). Candidates for TUG include lines adjacent to Aliso-Wood Canyons Wilderness Park, Emerald Bay, Laguna Canyon Road, and more.
