New Mexico Fugitive Residing in the Morongo Basin Arrested and Taken into Custody

LOCATION: 70000 block of Desert Dunes Drive, Twentynine Palms
SUSPECT(S): Caleb Engstrum, 33-year-old male resident of Lake Forest, CA
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at approximately 8:30 a.m., the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Morongo Basin Station, assisted the United States Marshals Service - El Centro Division apprehending a suspect, Caleb Engstrum. Engstrum was identified as a fugitive from New Mexico with an active no-bail warrant for a parole violation and was believed to be residing in the 70000 block of Desert Dunes Drive in the city of Twentynine Palms.
The Morongo Basin Station's Detective Bureau assisted the United States Marshals Service, surrounded the residence and arrested Engstrum without incident.
Engstrum was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail and is being held without bail.
