Aerial Mosquito Larvacide Application Spraying 8/16 & 8/17
Please be advised that on August 16 & 17, 2026, Mosquito Control will be performing an aerial larvacide application on Jekyll Island, pending no weather impacts.
Please see the following advisory from Mosquito Control:
Due to an increase in mosquito populations, Glynn County’s mosquito control contractor, Vector Disease Control International (VDCI), will conduct aerial larvicide applications throughout Glynn County.
Targeted areas for aerial larvicide include Andrews Island, the northern and southern parts of Jekyll Island, and Skeeter Alley. Larvicide treatments will also be administered using non-aerial methods.
In addition, adulticide ground applications will be conducted countywide during the late evening/night hours and early morning hours before sunrise, weather permitting.
VDCI performs continuous monitoring of mosquito populations, species, and potential disease vectors as part of Glynn County’s mosquito control program. This monitoring determines the type and frequency of response. If mosquito levels remain high following treatment, additional applications may be scheduled.
Operations will be based out of Brunswick Golden Isles Airport. The aircraft used for aerial spraying is a white and blue single-engine Cessna 188.
