Detective Kyle Gibson with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Charles Williams Memsen, 52, of Marion, with felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle. He received a $20,000 secured bond.
On Friday, July 25, Det. Gibson responded to a residence in Marion about a stolen Ford Fusion. Memsen, who was the suspect, had removed the car from the property unlawfully.
On Monday, July 30, Det. Gibson returned to the residence and found that Memsen had returned with the vehicle after spending several days in Buncombe County.
Memsen was arrested and transported to the McDowell County Detention Center.
