Narrative:
 
Thousand Oaks, Calif. – On August 8th, 2025, a DUI/ Driver’s License Checkpoint was held at E. Hillcrest Drive east of N. Conejo School Road from 8:00 PM to 01:00 AM.
 
A total of 818 drivers were contacted. Eight drivers were cited for operating a vehicle with license violations and three drivers were cited for other vehicle code violations.
 
(S) Guerrero, William was cited and released for falsifying registration, a violation of VC 4462.5.  (S) Andrade, Santiago Luis was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs, a violation of VC 23152(f). 
 
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes and areas of high traffic accident occurrences. The primary purpose of a DUI checkpoint is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
