Borough of Haledon WATER Emergency Update - Available Water Resources for Haledon Residents and Families for Monday, August 18, 2025

A Message from the Haledon Office of Emergency Management (OEM)

Borough of Haledon WATER Emergency Update - Outdoor Water Usage Remains Prohibited - Boil Water Advisory in Effect - Alternate Side of the Street Parking Still Suspended - Available Water Resources for Haledon Residents and Families for Monday, August 18, 2025.

As per the Manchester Utilities Authority, everyone in our borough should have water pressure in their homes and businesses. Please continue to be patient as repressurizing our water system is a very delicate, sensitive, and measured process. As we continue recovering, utilty workers are doing everything possible to avoid water main breaks within our borough’s water system, which could lead to additional complications. The Manchester Utilities Authority confirms that infrastructure utility companies are on standby and prepared to address any water main breaks within our borough’s system should they arise. If a water main break does occur during this process, which is anticipated, please do not be alarmed and allow the utility workers to address the situation. Residents are urged not to open fire hydrants and to refrain from drinking water from fire hydrants that may be legitimately opened by utility workers as they continue to address the water system for complete water restoration.

Outdoor water usage, including gardening, washing cars, and irrigation systems, remains prohibited pursuant to the active Borough of Haledon Declaration of Local WATER Emergency. You will receive an official notification when the Borough of Haledon Declaration of Local WATER Emergency is lifted. In the interim, we are continuing our water distribution efforts, and our portable showers also remain on standby until full water restoration is achieved and the water emergency is lifted.

The Boil Water Advisory remains in effect. All essential businesses, such as laundromats, remain open. As we work toward complete water restoration, the MUA continues working in cooperation with the Passaic Valley Water Commission and the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection for full water restoration.

All curbside trash and recycling pickup remains on schedule. The Haledon Recycling Center (Haledon Municipal
Complex - 510 Belmont Avenue) also remains open during its regular operating hours. We kindly urge everyone
to dispose of water bottles accordingly.

Alternate side of the street parking remains suspended until the Borough of Haledon Declaration of Local WATER Emergency is lifted.
