Full Notification

On 8/17/25, at about 1955 hours, SVPD Officers responded to the Carl's Jr located at 1208 Madera Rd for a Carjacking investigation. Through their investigation, Officers learned that the suspect had been in the restaurant for approximately 3 hours prior. When the victim (a restaurant employee) went to leave, the suspect followed the victim to his car. The suspect engaged the victim in a short conversation while the victim was putting water into his vehicle radiator. The suspect then told the victim that he needed to take his car, and then punched the victim, grabbed his keys and fled in the vehicle to an unknown location.  The suspect left numerous personal belongings behind inside the restaurant, and through additional investigation, Officers were able to positively indentify the suspect as Nicholas Kelley 33 years old.

On 8/18/25, at 0412 hours, Officers located Nicholas Kelley as he was walking in the area of Erringer Road and Simi Town Center Way.  As Officers moved in to arrest Kelley, he moderately resisted but was ultimately taken into custody. Kelley is a transient and a career criminal with numerous prior arrests and prison time served.  He was arrested for 215 PC, 11550 HS, and 148 PC and booked at Ventura County Jail. At this time, the victim's vehicle has not been located. Please contact the Police if you see the vehicle--Black Honda Civic with California license plate 8TDW248
