On Monday, August 11, 2025, at approximately 7:30 a.m., South Los Angeles Deputies responded to a three-vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of Grevillea Avenue and Marine Avenue in the city of Lawndale. 

The driver and sole occupant of one of the vehicles was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second vehicle was occupied by three individuals—the driver and two passengers—all of whom were transported to a local hospital for treatment. A third vehicle, which was unoccupied and parked at the time, was also struck during the crash.

During the course of the investigation, the driver of the second vehicle was suspected of being under the influence at the time of the crash and was subsequently arrested. The case was presented to the District Attorney’s Office, and charges were filed under 191.5(a) CVC, along with additional charges.

The investigation remains ongoing. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
