Post Severe Weather Event Information 
Community Alert – City of Sonora
Citizens of Sonora,
Following yesterday’s severe weather event that occurred at approximately 4:20 p.m., we are asking all residents to assist us in recovery efforts by doing the following:
- Report Damage
- Please call City Hall to report any structural damage or damage to your home.
- Citizens are also encouraged to self-report through the State of Texas Assessment Tool (iSTAT) under “General Incidents” with the Texas Division of Emergency Management.
- Vegetation and Tree Debris
- For tree limbs, leaves, and other vegetation debris, please call City Hall for instructions.
- The old landfill south of town has been designated as the official collection site for vegetation debris only.
- Important Notice: This site will be monitored 24 hours a day. Dumping outside the designated area is considered littering. Officers will investigate and file charges if violations occur.
- Furniture and Household Items
- Please do not place furniture or household items at the curbside at this time. This is not permitted within the City of Sonora or unincorporated Sutton County.
- City of Sonora residents with debris-related questions should call 325-387-2558.
- Citizens outside city limits should contact Sutton County for disposal instructions.
