MERIDIAN - In August of 2025, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force contacted the Meridian Police Department to make them aware of a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Meridian detectives began investigating the tip and identified Shawn C. SORENSEN as a suspect.
On August 20, 2025, the Meridian Police Department served a search warrant at SORENSON’s residence and seized evidence that SORENSEN was in possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material. SORENSEN was ultimately arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on 10 Counts of Child Exploitation.
