Boil Water Advisory Remains in Effect Until Further Notice
Please be reminded that a Boil Water Advisory remains in effect from the Manchester Utilities Authority. Please continue following the Boil Water Advisory guidelines recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The Manchester Utilities Authority continues working in cooperation with the Passaic Valley Water Commission and the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection on flushing our entire water system to ensure that our water returns to safe drinking standards. However, the estimated time for the completion of the MUA's flushing program remains pending. Please be on the lookout for an official timeline from the Manchester Utilities Authority.
Alternate side of the street parking enforcement has resumed. All curbside trash and recycling pickup remains on schedule. The Haledon Recycling Center (Haledon Municipal Complex - 510 Belmont Avenue) also remains open during its regular operating hours. We kindly urge everyone to dispose of water bottles accordingly. Please be informed of the Borough of Haledon's Department of Public Works Recycling Schedule recently announced by Mayor Michael Johnson and the Haledon Municipal Council.
Haledon DPW Recycling Schedule starting October 1, 2025:
First Wednesday of the Month: Cardboard Curbside Pickup - Borough-Wide
Second Wednesday of the Month: Commingle Curbside Pickup (Cans, Glass, and Plastic Bottles) - Borough-Wide
Third Wednesday of the Month: Cardboard Curbside Pickup - Borough-Wide
Fourth Wednesday of the Month: Commingle Curbside Pickup (Cans, Glass, and Plastic Bottles) - Borough-Wide
Newspapers can still be dropped off by residents at the Borough of Haledon's Recycling Center (Haledon Municipal Complex - 510 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ 07508).
The Haledon Municipal Complex Senior Center remains open as a temporary shelter, where water is available for any resident utilizing the service. Residents seeking temporary shelter can check in at the Main Desk at the Haledon Police Department.
For seniors and legally handicapped residents who require transportation assistance for drinking water, please contact the Haledon Police Department at 973-790-4444 for support.
