Gloucester Township Police Media Release- Head-On Motor Vehicle Crash Results in Multiple Injuries 8-20-25
On 8/20/25 at approximately 10:32 pm, officers from Gloucester Township Police Department responded to a serious motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles on the 600 Block of Hickstown Road, located in the Sicklerville section of the Township.
There was an initial report of entrapment in one of the vehicles with fire showing. A nearby resident responded quickly with a fire extinguisher to place the fire under control until the arrival of emergency responders. Gloucester Township Police were aided by Gloucester Township Fire Districts 85 & 86, Inspira EMS, Winslow EMS, Washington Township EMS, Lindenwold EMS, and Virtua Paramedics. Occupants of both vehicles were transported to various hospitals including Cooper Hospital, Virtua Hospital Voorhees, and Virtua Hospital Berlin.
A preliminary investigation conducted by Gloucester Township Police Department's Serious Crash Investigation Team (SCIT), determined that a sedan traveling westbound on Hickstown Road lost control and entered the eastbound lane of Hickstown Road, crashing into a SUV. As a result of the crash, the driver of the sedan suffered serious bodily injury. Hickstown Road was closed between Erial Road and Peter Cheeseman Road for several hours during the initial investigation.
The investigation is on-going and at this time no criminal charges have been filed. The identity of the occupants from both vehicles are being withheld pending notification of family members.
