            ESCONDIDO, California – A man riding an electric motorcycle died Thursday afternoon when he collided with a police vehicle pursuing him.
            The crash occurred on the bike path along the flood control channel that runs east and west between Valley Parkway and Washington Avenue. An officer attempted to stop the motorcyclist in the area of Valley Parkway and Rose Street. The motorcyclist did not yield and a pursuit ensued. The collision occurred on the bike path east of Midway Drive.
            Because the crash involved an Escondido police vehicle, investigators with the Oceanside Police Department assumed the investigation per a mutual agreement.
            The identity of the motorcyclist is being withheld until his family is notified.

Motociclista muere en accidente durante persecución policial
 
            ESCONDIDO, California – Un hombre que conducía una motocicleta eléctrica murió el jueves por la tarde al colisionar con un vehículo policial que lo perseguía.
El accidente ocurrió en la ciclovía a lo largo del canal de control de inundaciones que corre de este a oeste entre Valley Parkway y Washington Avenue. Un oficial intentó detener al motociclista en la zona de Valley Parkway y Rose Street. El motociclista no cedió el paso y se inició una persecución. La colisión ocurrió en la ciclovía al este de Midway Drive.
Debido a que el accidente involucró un vehículo policial de Escondido, los investigadores del Departamento de Policía de Oceanside asumieron que la investigación se llevó a cabo de mutuo acuerdo.
La identidad del motociclista se mantiene en reserva hasta que se notifique a su familia.
