The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA), in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), will fully close Stirling Road (SR-848) in both directions just west of I-95 from Friday, August 22, 2025, at 9 p.m., to Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 4 a.m. If necessary to complete the work, the closure will extend to Thursday, August 28, at 4 a.m. The full road closure is required to perform maintenance work along the South Florida Rail Corridor, including track rehabilitation, rail repairs, and replacement of the crossing surface. The closure will impact both vehicle and pedestrian access at the rail crossing. Traffic will be detoured via Sheridan Street. Drivers are also encouraged to use alternate routes such as Griffin Road. Expect delays in the area and allow extra travel time. Work will be performed by SFRTA contractors.
