Please be aware of the upcoming lane closures on Miles Avenue and Washington Street for the week of August 25 as the City conducts ongoing improvement work. To ensure the safety of our community and project crew, temporary lane closures will be in effect:
- Monday, August 25:
- Southbound Washington Street will be reduced to one lane for paving work.
- Tuesday, August 26:
- All lanes on Southbound Washington Street will reopen.
- The right-turn pocket from Southbound Washington Street to Westbound Miles Avenue will be closed. Right turns onto Westbound Miles Avenue will still be allowed.
- Pavement grinding will begin on the outside lanes of Miles Avenue from Washington Street to Highway 111.
- Inside lanes on Miles Avenue and the right-turn lane from Westbound Miles Avenue to Northbound Warner Trail will remain open.
- Wednesday, August 27:
- Pavement grinding will shift to the inside lanes on Miles Avenue from Washington Street to Highway 111.
- The outside lanes will reopen, but expect slower speeds as these lanes will only be base material.
- Friday, August 29-Tuesday, September 2:
- New paving will begin on Miles Avenue.
- One lane in each direction on Miles Avenue will remain open throughout the Labor Day weekend.
We understand that these changes may cause some delays. Please plan your routes accordingly, consider alternate routes and allow for extra travel time, particularly during peak hours.
