Wilmington Police arrest man in connection with multiple burglary incidents:
Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection with multiple burglary incidents following an investigation.
On July 31, at approximately 1:49 a.m., police responded to the 500 block of North King Street, in reference to a burglary incident. On August 16, at approximately 4:22 a.m., police responded to the 700 block of North King Street, in reference to a burglary incident. These cases were assigned to Detective Joran Merced of the Criminal Investigations Division.
Through the course of his investigation, Detective Merced identified 64-year-old James King as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest. On August 19, King was located in the 100 block of North Poplar Street, and was taken into custody without incident.
King has been charged with the following offenses:
- Burglary (Second Degree)
- Burglary (Third Degree)
- Possession of Burglar Tools – Two Counts
- Theft Over $1,500
- Criminal Mischief Over $1,000
- Criminal Mischief Under $1,000
