Sheriff Clint Roach reports that on August 25, 2025 at approximately 1445 hours, Deputies from the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Gumwood Rd and Bertrand St., Milton Township, Cass County, Michigan. 

The investigation showed that a vehicle driven by Kearron Morris (81 yrs old of Niles, MI)  was north bound on Gumwood Rd., and failed to stop in time and rear-ended a vehicle being driven by Hannah McLinden (19 yrs old of Niles, MI). The vehicle being driven by McLinden was attempting a left turn from Gumwood Rd. to Bertrand St. at the time of the crash. Kearron Morris was transported by ambulance to South Bend Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.  Hannah McLinden was treated by EMS on scene.  

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this crash. Seat belts were worn at the time of the crash.

Assisting agencies were SMCAS Ambulance.

The incident remains under investigation.
