At 622 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong thunderstorms extending from near Montoya to 13 miles southwest of Variadero, moving northeast at 5 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Newkirk and Montoya. This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 293 and 326. State Road 104 between Mile Markers 53 and 69.
