Wilmington Police have arrested a Newark man on a gun charge.
On August 20, at approximately 2:52 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the area of Lancaster Avenue and North Rodney Street, in reference to a person with a gun. Upon arrival, police located the suspect vehicle and conducted a vehicle stop in the 1200 block of Lancaster Avenue. Police made contact with the driver – 33-year-old Devante Carhee of Newark, DE. Following a brief investigation, Carhee was taken into custody without incident and police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun.
Carhee has been charged with the following offense:
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
