Wilmington Police have arrested a man on drug charges.
On August 20, at approximately 4:03 p.m., members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were in the 600 block of North Washington Street, when they observed a male subject engaged in drug-related activity. Police made contact with 21-year-old Kanye Purnell, who was taken into custody without incident. Purnell was found to be in possession of 119.1 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Purnell has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $5,100 secured bail.
