Wilmington Police have arrested a man on drug charges following an investigation.
Beginning in February, members of the Gun Intelligence Unit and F.B.I. Task Force have been conducting an investigation into illegal drug sales in the 1000 block of Coleman Street. On August 22, at approximately 2:55 p.m., police conducted a vehicle stop in that block and took 40-year-old Josue Perez into custody without incident. Subsequently, police executed a search warrant in that block and recovered 1 kilogram of cocaine, and drug paraphernalia.
Perez has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 3 Quantity
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
- Maintaining a Drug Property
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $75,000 cash-only bail.
