Narrative:
 
On 08/24/25, Camarillo patrol deputies received a report of vandalism at Community Center Park that may have occurred overnight between 8/23/25 and 8/24/25. It was discovered that a nearby utility box and a temporary street sign were vandalized with spray-painted graffiti writings of racial slurs and a hate symbol. Detectives from the Camarillo Police Department’s Investigations Bureau are actively investigating this incident in collaboration with the Camarillo Police Department’s Community Resource Unit (CRU) and the community.
 
The Camarillo Police Department wants to emphasize the importance of community awareness and collaboration in combating crime. We greatly appreciate the public’s assistance in reporting suspicious activities and working alongside deputies to identify criminals and bring them to justice.  Together, we can help keep our neighborhoods safe and ensure those who break the law are held accountable.
 
The Camarillo Police Department is asking anyone with information about this incident to come forward.  Even the smallest detail may help identify those responsible.  Information can be reported directly to Detective Schaum Song at 805-797-6413 or to the Ventura County Crime Stoppers.  The Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 reward for information, which leads to the arrest and criminal complaint against the person(s) responsible for this crime.
