NEWARK POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING INCIDENT 
Newark, CA (Tuesday August 26, 2025)
On Sunday, August 24, 2025, at approximately 3:57 PM, Newark Police Officers responded to a report of a drive by shooting on the 6200 block of Baine Avenue. Officers arrived within minutes, but the suspect had fled prior to their arrival.
Witnesses reported the suspect fired two shots at unsuspecting victims gathered outside, before fleeing the area in a white Sports Utility Vehicle. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.
Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, speaking to witnesses, and processing the scene for evidence. At this time, the motive remains unknown.
