*UPD* #LASD Homicide Bureau Responded to a Shooting Death Investigation, 1300 blk S. Long Beach Blvd., Compton
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide investigators are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of a male adult in the city of Compton. The incident occurred on Monday, August 26, 2025, at approximately 10:40 p.m.
Deputies from Compton Sheriff’s Station were patrolling the 1300 block of S. Long Beach Boulevard in the city of Compton when they heard gunshots. They observed two suspects, who were involved in the shooting, exiting a business establishment, fleeing the scene in a Dodge Charger driven by a third suspect. They also observed a male on the ground in front of the location. Deputies initiated a vehicle pursuit of the suspects, which ended near the intersection of 139th Street and Zamora Avenue in the city of Compton.
The Compton City Fire Department responded to the business establishment on Long Beach Boulevard and transported the male victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Investigators learned there were three suspects in the Dodge Charger, armed with assault rifles, who had shot at numerous victims at the location. Deputies pursued the suspect vehicle through several surface streets and momentarily continued on the freeway before returning onto surface streets in the city of Compton. During the vehicle pursuit, the suspects shot at the deputies. At the termination of the vehicle pursuit, three suspects bailed from the vehicle and fled on foot in various directions.
A containment of the area was established, and members of our Special Enforcement Bureau responded, locating and detaining the three suspects. Three assault rifles were recovered from the suspect’s vehicle.
No deputies were injured during this incident. A patrol vehicle was struck by the suspect’s gunfire during the pursuit.
The investigation is ongoing, and currently, there's no information available at this time.
