Stolen Firearm Arrest 
On August 27, 2025, at approximately 9:36 p.m., officers responded to a report of a firearm theft at a residence in the 1400 block of Sycamore. The suspect reportedly left in a gray Honda Accord.
In the early morning hours of August 28, 2025, at approximately 2:44 a.m., the vehicle was located in the area of Sawyer and Royal. The two men in the vehicle were arrested without incident, and a stolen firearm was recovered inside the vehicle.
Joe Higareda (Simi Valley) was booked on the following charges:
- Grand Theft Firearm (487(d) PC)
- Felon in Possession of a Firearm (29800 PC)
- Carrying a Concealed Firearm in a Vehicle (25400(a)(3) PC)
The investigation is ongoing.
