Traffic Detour-Main Street Road Closure
From Indigo Hill Road to Nadeau Street-Starting Tuesday, September 2, 2025-Friday September 5; 7am-5pm
Main Street from Indigo Hill Road to Nadeau Street will be closed for through traffic; (access for local traffic only) to allow the City of Somersworth and its contractor GVC to install new water service lines from the newly installed water main to the residential properties.
A detour traffic plan with signage will be in effect during the closure and require vehicles to use Rollins Road to Green Street, Stackpole Road, or Indigo Hill Road. Flaggers and a Police Detail will be present for local traffic and for public safety vehicles during the closure. See attached detour map. Centre Road at Malley Farm Business Park will be open and will require vehicles and trucks to enter/exit to/from the Rollins Road end of Main Street. Several service lines require trenching across the road for installation. The road closure allows our contractor to work safely and efficiently. Non- residents must follow the detour plan. The road will be opened daily after 5pm.
City staff as well as the hired contractor GVC are alerting residents and travelers through social media, the official City website, email notifications, as well as message boards.
