The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) and the DC Department of General Services (DGS) would like to inform the community that construction work on ADA upgrades will begin at Kalorama Recreation Center (1875 Columbia Rd NW) on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, and will continue through the end of December. Note that the recreation center will be CLOSED while these upgrades take place.
This work involves exterior site improvements, including the addition of ADA ramps, handrails, and new concrete work. Interior upgrades focus on restroom renovations and multi-purpose room improvements, as well as ADA signage. There will be no exterior access to the facility’s restrooms while this project takes place. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time.
