A Message from the Haledon Office of Emergency Management

Isolated Water Main Break at Morrissee Avenue Near Henry Street

Please be advised that there is an isolated water main break at Morrissee Avenue near Henry Street, temporarily affecting water pressure in four (4) homes in the immediate area. Once again, this water main break is isolated. Emergency utility workers are on scene, and repairs are underway.

As previously reported, following the major 42 inch water main break that occurred behind Hinchcliffe Stadium in the City of Paterson, from which our community is still recovering, the Manchester Utilities Authority and the Passaic Valley Water Commission have begun systematically repressurizing the water systems in the affected areas, including the Borough of Haledon. The repressurization of our water system is a very delicate, sensitive, and measured process, as they are doing everything possible to avoid further water main breaks. Nevertheless, the Manchester Utilities Authority has confirmed that infrastructure utility companies are on standby and prepared to address any additional water main breaks within our water system, should they arise. If a water main break does occur during this process, which is anticipated, please do not be alarmed and allow the utility workers to address the situation.

For inquiries regarding water services, please contact the Manchester Utilities Authority at 973-942-6538 or email [email protected].
