Suspicious Activity/Obstructing/Disorderly Conduct

8/25 – 7:12 p.m. – Police were called to the village park near the sand volleyball court for a suspicious person who was engaging in conversation with several grade-school aged juveniles, in a way that disturbed them.  This lead to an extensive investigation whereby interviews were conducted and camera footage of the park’s surveillance video was reviewed. Upon completion of the investigation, the case was forwarded to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for review. 
 
On August 28th, the St. Clair County State’s Attorney James Gomric’s Office charged the defendant: Jonathan M. Truesdale, 44 of Millstadt.  The warrants were reviewed by Judge Sara Rice and signed as valid.  According to the warrant information Truesdale was charged with the following:
 
Count 1: Obstructing a Peace Officer – in that he provided false information, denying speaking with the male and female minors (this obstruction occurred while the Officer was conducting the investigation at the park); A Class A Criminal Misdemeanor
 
Count 2: Obstructing a Peace Officer – in that he provided false information, denying speaking with the male and female minors (this obstruction occurred while the Officer was conducting an interview the following day); A Class A Criminal Misdemeanor
 
Count 3: Disorderly Conduct – in that he circled a male minor, inquired where he lived and what school he attended, and rode the male minor’s bicycle, in such an unreasonable manner as to alarm or disturb the male minor and provoke a breach of the peace; A Class C Criminal Misdemeanor.
 
Count 4: Disorderly Conduct – in that he circled a female minor, inquired where she lived and what school she attended, and rode the female minor’s bicycle, in such an unreasonable manner as to alarm or disturb the female minor and provoke a breach of the peace; A Class C Criminal Misdemeanor.
 
Count 5: Disorderly Conduct – in that he circled a female minor, inquired where she lived and what school she attended, in such an unreasonable manner as to alarm or disturb the female minor and provoke a breach of the peace; A Class C Criminal Misdemeanor.
 
Count 6: Disorderly Conduct – in that he circled a female minor, inquired where she lived and what school she attended, in such an unreasonable manner as to alarm or disturb the female minor and provoke a breach of the peace; A Class C Criminal Misdemeanor.
 
Count 7: Disorderly Conduct – in that he circled a female minor, inquired where she lived and what school she attended, in such an unreasonable manner as to alarm or disturb the female minor and provoke a breach of the peace; A Class C Criminal Misdemeanor.
 
Count 8: Disorderly Conduct – in that he circled a female minor, inquired where she lived and what school she attended, in such an unreasonable manner as to alarm or disturb the female minor and provoke a breach of the peace; A Class C Criminal Misdemeanor.
 
Later that morning, Millstadt Officers arrested Truesdale, and he was transported to the St. Clair County Jail.
