NEWARK POLICE INVESTIGATE VEHICLE COLLISION INTO RESIDENCE 
Newark, California (Monday, September 1, 2025)
On Sunday, August 31, 2025, at approximately 10:35 p.m., Newark Police Officers and members of the Alameda County Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle collision involving a sedan and an SUV at the intersection of Cedar Boulevard and Lafayette Avenue. Following the impact, the sedan struck a residence in the 5000 block of Lafayette Avenue.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel located four adult vehicle occupants and rendered aid. The driver of the sedan sustained serious injuries. The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries, and two passengers sustained serious injuries. All injured parties were transported to local hospitals for treatment. An occupant of the residence was also treated at a local hospital.
At this time, it is believed that alcohol was a factor in this incident, however the collision remains under investigation by the Newark Police Department Traffic Unit.
