New Community Public Safety Workshop To Begin on September 30th
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., invites Newark residents to attend the upcoming Public Safety’s Community Workshop.
The Workshop will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., beginning Tuesday, September 30, 2025 through November 18th, 2025. Workshop sessions will be held at the William Mobile Ashby Community Care and Training Center, 695 Bergen Street in Newark.
During the workshop, participants will gain insights regarding the operations of the Newark Police and Fire divisions as well as the Office of Emergency Management (OEM). Attendees will also receive a glimpse into how officers of the Newark Police Division are trained, how deployment decisions are made, the operations of the dispatch center, and how calls for service are prioritized. The group also received training in the areas of crime prevention, gang awareness, and domestic violence.
From the Fire Division’s training section, Workshop participants will learn how to devise a fire escape plan, how arson investigations are conducted, and the proper use of a fire extinguisher. The group will also discover how the OEM functions during catastrophic emergencies.
The Workshop is open to anyone who lives, works, or is a member of a house of worship in the City of Newark. #newarknj #publicsafety #police #community #partnership #cops #workshop #BackTogetherAgain
