Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help in locating Janay Ellis, 33, who is wanted for questioning in connection with a shooting that occurred on Friday, August 29, 2025.
At approximately 2:40 p.m., Police responded to Riverside Court near McCarter Highway, on multiple calls of shots fired. Responding Officers observed four spent shell casings and property damage resulting from gunfire, but no injuries have been reported.
Detectives investigating this incident are seeking Janay Ellis for questioning. She is described as having a light brown complexion, 5’5” tall, 160 pounds, with brown hair, and brown eyes.
