Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., announces that the following streets will be closed during the below designated hours due to the City of Newark’s Annual 24-Hours of Peace festival:
 
Beginning from 4 a.m., Friday, September 5, 2025, to 11 p.m., Saturday, September 6, 2025
 
• Central Avenue between South 11th Street and West Market Street
• South 10th Street between  11th Avenue and 9th Avenue
• South 9th Street between 11th Avenue and 9th Avenue
• South 8th Street between 11th Avenue and 9th Avenue
• South 7th Street between 11th Avenue and W. Market Street
• 4th Street between Central Avenue and W. Market Street
 
The 24-Hours of Peace event will be held at Central Avenue between West Market Street and South 10th Street. It begins at 5 p.m., Friday, September 5th, and will end at 6 p.m., Saturday, September 6th.
 
Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and to plan alternate routes.
 
Director Miranda thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this event. He also urges anyone with information regarding any criminal activity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
