Sheriff Clint Roach reports that on 09/04/2025 at approximately 9:35 A.M., the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a single vehicle crash on Mason Rd, near Gordon St., in Mason Township, Cass County Michigan.
 
The investigation showed that Larry Rentfrow (78 yo from Edwardsburg, MI) was westbound on Mason St., when Rentfrows’ vehicle left the roadway, causing his vehicle to hit multiple trees and then overturning. Rentfrow was trapped in his vehicle. Deputies and assisting agencies were able to extract Rentfrow. Rentfrow was transported by SEPSA Ambulance to South Bend Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the accident.

Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this crash. Rentfrow was wearing his seatbelt.
