Areas of dense fog have developed across the North Carolina Foothills and parts of the Piedmont. Scattered areas of visibility below 1 mile, and as low as 1/4 mile in isolated locations, will continue until after sunrise, at which point fog should quickly clear out. Exercise caution during the morning commute. Visibility may drop suddenly and over short distances. Slow down, increase following distance, and turn on your low-beam headlights.
