Cranbury Day / 5K Race / North Main Street CLOSED 8am – 5pm / detour in place / expect delays / plan alternate route
Tomorrow is a busy day in Cranbury. The annual Helene Cody races and Cranbury Day are here again.
The races kick off at 7am within Heritage Park, located at the intersection of South Main Street & Old Trenton Road, and are expected to conclude around 10am. The area should see heavy motor vehicle and pedestrian traffic during these times. Please use caution when navigating the area.
Cranbury Day will cause North Main Street, between Westminster Place and Scott Avenue, to be CLOSED from 8am through 5pm. Please note that this year’s road closure is longer than in year’s past and may affect your Saturday travels. Please be sure to allow extra time to find legal parking outside the event or when conducting other business in the area.
Please note that Park Place will remain open to allow local access in and out of the residential circle. It is recommended to avoid this area unless you are a resident as public parking is limited to only a few spaces.
The detour around the Cranbury Day location is via Maplewood Avenue, accessed on either end by Scott Avenue or Westminster Place. Police Officers and Crossing Guards will be posted at these locations to assist with safe pedestrian crossings and to manage the flow of traffic.
Please be aware of the temporary NO PARKING and HANDICAP ONLY signs that have been posted in and around the event area. These signs are specifically for the times of 7am through 5pm. Improperly parked vehicles are subject to being ticketed and towed away at the owner’s expense.
The predicted weather is favorable, but afternoon thunderstorms are predicted so plan accordingly. Come out, enjoy and be safe.
