Public Safety Director Miranda Announces the Arrest of 20 Wanted Suspects with 17 Suspects Facing Unlawful Weapon Possession Charges
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., reports that police arrested 20 individuals in August 2025 for various offenses, including illegal weapon possession and aggravated assaults as part of the Newark Police Division’s ongoing crime reduction strategy.
“I commend the members of the Newark Police Criminal Intelligence and Fugitive Apprehension Team for their tenacity toward ensuring that individuals who are wanted for violent crimes are removed from Newark’s streets,” Director Miranda said. “The apprehension of 20 people, along with the recovery of seven illegal firearms, is outstanding work and proof-positive that our detectives are fully committed to keeping our neighborhoods safe from violence.”
