Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., announces that the following streets will be closed during the hours below due to the City of Newark’s Drive Up and Go Food Distribution event:
 
Beginning from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Wednesday, September 10, 2025
 
• Ivy Street between Tuxedo Parkway and Eastern Parkway
• Midland Blvd. between Woodbine Avenue and Mt. Vernon Place
• Norman Road between Mt. Vernon Place and Woodbine Avenue
 
The food drive begins at 10 a.m. and will be held at Midland Place and Ivy Street.
 
Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and plan alternate routes.
 
Director Miranda thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this event. He also urges anyone with information regarding criminal activities to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).  All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
