Register as a Green Business by 8 p.m. tonight; Memory loss seminar announced; Flu clinics announced;

Deadline to apply for Hoboken Green Business Recognition Program is tonight at 8 p.m. 

The Hoboken Green Team reminds businesses to submit applications for the Hoboken Green Business Recognition Program. This program honors local businesses that demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainability through actions such as reducing waste, recycling hard-to-recycle items, using energy-efficient lighting, purchasing in bulk to minimize packaging, and participating in environmental causes. Businesses that take part in the program help build a citywide culture of sustainability and community responsibility.

Recognized Hoboken Green Businesses will receive a Green Business decal for display at their storefront, a digital version for online use, and free vendor space at the Hoboken Green Fair on Oct. 4, and advertised on the City’s website.

Attend the Understanding Memory Loss Seminar

The City of Hoboken’s Social Workers, in partnership with the Act Now Foundation, will host an Understanding Memory Loss seminar on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. at the Multi-Service Center, located at 124 Grand St.

The seminar will help participants understand the difference between mild forgetfulness and more serious memory issues, explore potential causes, and discuss ways to treat or manage symptoms. Attendees will also learn strategies for coping with serious memory problems.

Flu clinics announced; Vaccinations encouraged for children

The City of Hoboken and the Hoboken Division of Health announce a flu vaccine clinic, in partnership with Medicine Man Pharmacy, on Thursday, Sept. 11, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Multi-Service Center, 124 Grand St. Appointments are preferred and can be made online at: https://www.medicinemanrx.com/vaccination-testing
 
A second flu vaccine clinic, hosted with Hudson Regional Health Commission, is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 18, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., also at the Multi-Service Center. Appointments can be made online at: https://www.hudsoncountyvax.org/ 

As the school year gets underway, the Hoboken Division of Health remains committed to prioritizing the health of all children and reminds parents of the importance of having their children immunized. The Division will continue to partner with Hudson Regional Health Commission (HRHC) in offering all recommended childhood vaccinations for insured, underinsured, and uninsured families. For those unable to attend the above flu clinics, and those in need of other vaccines, HRHC will be hosting additional pop-up clinics throughout the county and also has mobile services to make access easier for all.
