Press Release Update #1: September 5, 2025 Drive-by Shooting Resulting in Homicide
On Friday, September 5, 2025, at approximately 11:12 p.m., Fremont Police officers responded to the 6000 block of Stevenson Boulevard to a report of a drive-by shooting. Upon their arrival, officers immediately rendered aid to one victim. The victim was ultimately declared deceased.
An initial press release stated that two additional victims were transported to area medical facilities for treatment.
Update: There was only one additional victim who was transported to an area medical facility, who ultimately succumbed to their injuries. There was no third victim involved in this incident.
The Fremont Police Department Investigations Unit has assumed the investigation. The preliminary investigation indicates a suspect vehicle drove up to the victims in a large parking lot and fired multiple shots. Detectives are interviewing witnesses, canvassing the area for surveillance video, and pursuing actionable leads. This remains a very active and fluid investigation.
This is Fremont’s third and fourth homicide in 2025.
