1 Arrested and 4 Cited at Petaluma Police DUI Checkpoints 

Petaluma, Calif. – On 09/06/2025 One driver arrested for DUI at a DUI checkpoint on 09/06/2025. 

The Petaluma Police Department conducted a checkpoint at 2 separate locations during the evening.  One checkpoint was held at E Washington Street near Executive Drive from approximately 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and the second location was held at Petaluma Blvd near Oak St between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. 

One driver was cited for operating a vehicle with a suspended/revoked license, 499 vehicles were contacted. One driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. 

DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads. 

Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
