On 9/7/25, at 1202 pm, SVPD Officers responded to a radio call of a stabbing that just occurred at the laundromat at 1401 Kuehner Dr. The reporting party--a woman and her daughter, stated they observed two men get into an altercation, and one subject stabbed the other in the stomach. Officers arrived on scene and promptly detained a possible suspect, identified as Matthew Garren of Simi Valley. Garren was cooperative and a knife was recovered from his person. He admitted to getting into a verbal dispute with another male, but denied stabbing him. Officers were unable to locate a stabbing victim, and it was reported that the possible victim left the area in a white utility van. He was described only as a white male in his 60's. Garren was subsequently arrested for 417 PC--Brandishing a deadly weapon and booked at Ventura County Jail.
