Newark Firefighters and American Red Cross Volunteers To Distribute Free Smoke Detectors to Central Ward Residents
The Newark Fire Division, in partnership with the American Red Cross, will distribute free home smoke alarms to Central Ward residents beginning 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, October 4, 2025.

Firefighters will join American Red Cross volunteers in knocking on doors in the areas of Springfield Avenue snd South Orange Avenue as well as 7th Street and Morris Avenue to offer residents the free home smoke alarms along with free installation and fire safety information.
