SUMMARY: On Saturday, August 30, 2025, at approximately 1:29 a.m., Deputies Brambila and Rapisardi from the Fontana Station responded to a 9-1-1 call for service involving domestic violence at a residence located on the 14800 block of Carmel Street, in the county area of Fontana. They arrived within minutes and located an adult female victim outside the residence with a severe head injury.

Deputies learned the victim's husband, later identified as Galo Mejia-Reyes, was inside the residence armed with a pistol. Deputies set up a perimeter and requested additional deputies. They began making announcements through their patrol vehicle's PA system for Mejia-Reyes to step outside unarmed and surrender. After several minutes, Mejia-Reyes complied and was taken into custody without further incident.

A search warrant was authored and granted for the house. During the search, Brambila and Rapisardi located multiple assault-style rifles, pistols, large-capacity magazines, a collapsible baton, and a large amount of ammunition. Several of the rifles and magazines were found to be illegal and in violation of California law. Galo Mejia-Reyes remains in custody with bail set at $1,000,000.00.  The victim received medical treatment for her injuries.
