LOCATION: Colorado Street & 8th Street, Yucaipa
SUSPECT: Noe Tovar, 31-year-old Yucaipa Resident
SUMMARY: On Friday, September 5, 2025, at about 11:18 a.m., neighbors observed Noe Tovar stealing mail from a mailbox on Colorado Street, near the intersection with 8th Street. The neighbors and the victim chased after Tovar and tried to place him under citizen’s arrest. Tovar and the citizens became involved in a physical altercation, and Tovar escaped from them and disappeared into the neighborhood.
During a search of the area, deputies found Tovar hiding in the backyard of a residence on Country Place. Tovar surrendered to law enforcement and requested assistance for injuries he sustained while fighting the victim and witnesses. Tovar was issued a citation to appear in court and transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
