Safety & Sobriety Checkpoint Results in Five Arrests and 38 Citations Issued

INCIDENT: Rancho Cucamonga Safety & Sobriety Checkpoint
LOCATION: Foothill Boulevard / Haven Avenue
SUMMARY: On Friday, September 5, 2025, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department personnel conducted a Safety & Sobriety Checkpoint in the city of Rancho Cucamonga. Deputies screened approximately 1200 vehicles. Of the vehicles screened, 130 vehicle stops were conducted. The vehicle stops resulted in four arrests for driving under the influence, one other arrest, and 38 traffic citations, including 33 citations for driving without a valid license.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related collisions. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off public roadways.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
