The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community. 
 
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 2025:
 
7:25 AM Officers investigated several license plate thefts, vehicle burglaries, and a vehicle theft reported throughout the city.
 
3:44 PM Officer Lomeli responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle near Cherry St & Plummer Ave. The vehicle was determined to be stolen and was recovered on scene.
 
5:42 PM Officer S. Torres investigated a window smash vehicle burglary reported near Seawind Way & Hickory St. Reported loss included clothing, work documents, and keys which were recovered during Officer Lomeli’s investigation.
 
5:45 PM Officer Cervantes investigated a theft of personal clothing and accessories from a locked hotel room near Dumbarton Ct & Jarvis Ave.
 
6:05 PM Officer Lara investigated a hit-and-run collision that occurred on Cedar Blvd & Rochelle Ave.
 
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2025:
 
1:21 AM Officer Dale responded to mailbox burglary and mail theft reported near Dragonfly St & Sea Turtle Ave. Two males, a 45-year-old and 35-year-old, were located on scene. They were arrested for burglary, mail theft, and possession of illicit weapons and narcotics. Both were transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
 
7:00 AM Officer Orozco investigated a stolen vehicle reported on John Muir Drive.
 
9:59 AM Officer Williams initiated a pedestrian warrant check near Sycamore St & Dairy Ave. A 38-year-old male was identified with an outstanding warrant and was arrested on scene. He was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
 
10:17 AM Officer Kim investigated several commercial burglaries reported near Clark Ave & Cherry St. The lock for the doors were forced open.  
 
11:28 AM CSO Lau was dispatched to a vehicle burglary reported on Lafayette Ave & Christine St. Damage was noted to the ignition column and the stereo was taken.
 
1:49 PM Officer Williams was dispatched to a disturbance near Cedar Blvd & N Magazine Dr. A 33-year-old male was arrested for violating court orders, possession of narcotics, and violating probation terms.
 
5:04 PM Officer Williams investigated a theft from vehicle reported near Seawind Way & Hickory St. Reported loss included charging cables, electronics, sunglasses, and work documents.
 
5:09 PM Officer Jackman investigated a road rage battery incident reported near Spruce St & Merion Drive.
 
10:09 PM Officer Norvell responded to a vehicle burglary reported on Mowry Ave & Alpenrose Ct. Reported loss included a backpack containing electronics.
 
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2025:
 
5:14 AM Officer Dale investigated a mailbox burglary reported on Potrero Dr & Cherry St.
 
9:30 AM Officers investigated several reports of vehicle burglaries and attempted vehicle thefts throughout the city.
 
12:11 PM Officer Kim investigated a commercial burglary near Clark Ave & Cherry St.
 
5:15 PM Officer Orozco investigated a window smash vehicle burglary that occurred near Overlake Pl & Fircrest Ave. There was no reported loss.
 
6:48 PM Officer Orozco conducted a traffic stop near Sycamore St & Graham Ave. A 22-year-old male was cited for an outstanding warrant.
 
7:11 PM Officer Williams conducted a pedestrian stop near Filbert St & Wells Ave. A 33-year-old male was arrested for possession of weapons and violation of probation. He was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
 
9:39 PM Officer Norvell investigated a suspicious person reported near Cedar Blvd & Mowry School Rd. A 36-year-old female was arrested for possession of narcotics. She was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
 
11:57 PM Officer Williams conducted a traffic stop near Thornton Ave & Cherry St. A 21-year-old male was cited for driving with a suspended license.
 
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2025:
 
8:34 AM Officer Medina investigated a vehicle burglary reported on Newpark Mall Road. Reported loss included a variety of tools.
 
10:00 AM Officer Shaffer responded to a domestic violence incident reported near Cherry St & Smith Ave. A 41-year-old male was arrested for sexual assault, false imprisonment, and domestic violence. He was transported and booked into Santa Rita Jail.
 
10:45 PM Officer Williams initiated vehicle checks near Clark Ave & Cherry St. A stolen vehicle was located and recovered at the scene.
 
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2025: 
 
2:20 AM Officer Williams initiated a traffic stop near Dairy Ave & Newark Blvd. The vehicle was determined to be stolen and was recovered on scene.
 
8:00 AM Officers investigated several vehicle burglaries on Newpark Mall Road. Reported losses included tools and commercial industrial equipment.
 
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2025:
 
7:28 AM Officer Lor responded to a disturbance reported near Cedar Blvd & Timber St. A 35-year-old female was arrested for battery. She was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
 
1:54 PM Officer Lor investigated a shoplifting incident near Thornton Ave & Cedar Blvd.
 
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2025:
 
3:48 AM Officer Diaz-Perez investigated several reports of mail theft near Cherry St & Brush Rabbit Ave.
 
10:20 AM Officer Lor responded to a domestic violence incident near Locust St & Wells Ave. A 46-year-old female was arrested for robbery and domestic violence. She was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
 
3:00 PM Officer Jackman responded to a domestic violence incident reported near Mowry Ave & Cedar Blvd
