GBPD Responds to Two Disturbances at Preble High School; Student Arrested & Handgun with Ammunition Recovered
The Green Bay Police Department (GBPD) is investigating the cause of two unrelated lunch hour disturbances at Preble High School, 2222 Deckner Avenue, which led to one student's arrest and the recovery of a handgun with ammunition.
On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, GBPD responded to a reported fight in the commons and while addressing the issue, a second altercation was witnessed requiring additional police response.
Through the initial investigation, a juvenile who is believed to have been involved in the first disturbance was also believed to have brought the handgun and ammunition into school. The handgun and ammunition were located by an officer in a backpack in a locked classroom. The student was taken into custody.
GBPD will be recommending charges that will be determined as the investigation continues.
We are continuing to work closely with Green Bay Area Public Schools (GBAPS), and as a precautionary measure, we will have an increased police presence at the school on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
We currently do not have any further information planned for immediate release.
